Black Amber and Lavender Soap.
Another lovely day making two huge logs of soap.

Black Amber and Lavender Soap Twins

I had a friend ask me how long it took to make soap and he helped me to realise that if i make two logs at one time i could get 30 soaps out for the same effort and clean up etc as the small logs of 7 or the one log of 15. Very grateful to that friend.

Stanley has joined us here at Grace Studio.

His arrival was perfectly timed to that of the rain that fell this week in Wellington. I have been using Artesian Water to make my soap from the Petone aquifer, but as things had gotten dryer and dryer we felt the need for a proper rain water collector for our house anyway. Stanley is gorgeous and will weather up nicely. :-) Now when New Zealand has a draught at least we know we are doing our little bit to help.

Grace Studio aka Kitchen Bench

Got a lovely phone call the other day from the people at Underground Markets asking for a few action shots for the local paper. Very happy to assist. :-)

Latest batch made, Caroline's Soap I love the way the light captures all of those Calendula Petals in the olive oil. They are soaked in it so that the healing properties are captured. Yum.

and the finished product is here. Still needs to fully cure for 2 months. Well worth the wait. :-)
That is the very messy view of what is part of Grace Studio, aka Sam's bedroom :-)

Grace Studio is Open

Hi There,

I have finally taken the plunge and created a Facebook page and web site just for my Hand crafted items.

Really getting my head around all this e commerce but in actually reality the best way to sell soap is to take a wee basket around to folks where they can smell and see.
